Radiohead. The King of Limbs. Available Today (!)

Woooohooooo!  The big day is here……1 day early. Thanks to an alert from THE KEXP BLOG in Seattle (another reason to love the Pacific Northwest) I snagged the new Radiohead, The King of Limbs, a day early.  Listening now and, seriously, I’m feverish.

Get Radiohead, The King of Limbs here (!)

….and this is how I felt while waiting the 2 minutes it took for the WAV file to download (scroll to 1:20 for actual footage of me- sort of):

New Release (!) Telekinesis. 12 Desperate Straight Lines.

What’s a straight line if it ain’t desperate? That’s what I always say.

Today, Merge Records (Have you heard of The Arcade Fire?) released 12 Desperate Straight Lines from one of my favorite rule-breaking bands, Telekinesis.  Listen to Jason Narducy’s (Bob Mould band)  filthy bass on “Car Crash” and tell me this doesn’t qualify.

Buy it from Merge Records. Right now.

Happy Hour (!) Junip. Fields. $5.00.

Seductive. Unique. Beautiful. Warm, but not cozy. Smells like freshly sanded walnut with a hint of one-hour-old Narcissus. I’m pretty much in love with the way Junip’s first full-length record makes me feel. Junip’s Fields on Amazon MP3.

Tame Impala – Innerspeaker.

Thanks to a reminder from Daytrotter, I’m streaming part of Tame Impala’s Innerspeaker (rel June 28, 2010 by Modular Recordings).  Unbelievably cool, otherworldly chill-groove with creamy distorted vocals reminiscent of Nada Surf’s “Fruit Fly”, Innerspeaker, mixed by Dave Fridmann (MGMT, Flaming Lips), is a sonic adventurpiece that will have your mind doing cosmic cartwheels.

Watch this video for “Lucidity”, directed by Robert Hales.

See Tame Impala live during their United States & Canada tour, which begins on November 16 and ends at the Echoplex in Los Angeles on December 14th. Buy tickets on Tame Impala’s website.

Download Tame Impala’s October 12, 2010 Daytrotter session.

Buy Innerspeaker on iTunes.
